Son of the Antwerp bookdealer and engarver Silvester van Parijs. Married in 1563 with Mechtelt, daughter of the Antwerp printer Claes van den Wouwere, son-in-law of the printer Symon Cock. In 1567, active as printer, membership under the 'meesterzoons' of the Sint-Lucasgilde. In the same year he was suspictioned, printing herretic books and engravings.
